Build progress at the former Penallta Colliery development in November 2021
The re-development at the former Penallta Colliery site will bring 48 new low carbon homes to Caerphilly.
All the homes will have increased energy efficiency and low carbon technology. This means they will need less energy to power them and use cleaner energy overall, making them kinder to the environment.
There will be six one-bedroom apartments, 15 two-bedroom houses and 16 three-bedroom houses, which will be allocated for rent through Caerphilly Council’s Common Housing Register.
There will also be 10 three-bedroom homes available to buy through an affordable shared ownership scheme with our harmoni homes brand.
The Penallta Colliery development has benefited from Welsh Government Social Housing Grant funding and is due to complete in 2022.
